Experience Costa Rica Through Coffee, Culture, and Community

An 8-day small-group journey into the Blue Zone of Costa Rica—where coffee is grown, traditions are lived, and the experience goes far beyond what most travelers ever see.

  • Visit a working coffee co-op in the only Blue Zone where coffee is produced
  • Spend time in the Matambú Indigenous Reserve with the community we support
  • Explore cloud forests, coastal towns, and the rhythms of daily life in Costa Rica

Why Costa Rica Feels Different

Costa Rica is known for its natural beauty, but what makes it different is how people live.

Community comes first. Life moves with balance. And that shows up in everything—from how food is grown to how coffee is produced.

Despite its size, Costa Rica holds nearly 6% of the world’s biodiversity, with landscapes ranging from cloud forests to coastal beaches. That connection to nature isn’t just protected—it’s part of daily life.

It’s within this environment that the country’s coffee is grown—shaped by the land, the people, and the traditions behind it.

The Blue Zone (Where Your Coffee Comes From)

The Nicoya Peninsula is one of the world’s five Blue Zones—regions known for longevity, strong community, and a deep connection to daily life.

Here, people live simply. Meals are shared. Work is physical. Community comes first.

This is also where our coffee is grown.

The same environment that supports long, healthy lives shapes the way coffee is cultivated, processed, and shared—making it inseparable from the place it comes from.

Your hosts: Cinthia & Will

Cinthia grew up in Costa Rica in the coffee world, with a firsthand understanding of how coffee is grown and shared. She later spent time living in Sámara, building real connections across the Nicoya Peninsula.

Together, she and Will have relationships with the people and places you’ll experience—within the Matambú Indigenous Reserve, at the coffee cooperative where our coffee is sourced, and across the region they return to regularly.

This trip comes from that.

What feels rare to most travelers is simply everyday life here.

Here's how the journey unfolds:

Cloud Forest & Adventure

DAYS 1–2 | MONTEVERDE

We begin high in the cloud forest of Monteverde. You’ll stay in the charming mountain town of Santa Elena, surrounded by cafés, local restaurants, and daily Costa Rican life. Monteverde’s beauty is unlike anywhere else.

Experiences while in Monteverde include ziplining over the misty jungle, sightseeing high above the trees on hanging bridges, and exploring native wildlife.

This is where Costa Rica’s relationship with nature is most visible.

Coffee, Community & Living Culture

DAYS 3–4 | MATAMBÚ RESERVE

From there, we head to a place most travelers never get access to: the Matambú Indigenous Reserve, the heart of this journey.

You’ll spend two nights in a traditional cabin, immersed in a living Indigenous culture and the community we proudly support.

In addition, you’ll visit the Coopepilangosta Coffee Co-op, where our Blue Zone coffees are grown and processed, and experience the full coffee story from the land to the cup.

This is where the coffee you drink begins—grown, processed, and shared within the same community.

Coast, Calm & Connection

Days 5–8 | Sámara

We wrap up our journey on the Pacific coast in the relaxed beach town of Sámara. Expect ocean time, great food, and space to breathe. Activities range from horseback riding and local exploration to simply doing nothing at all.

On our final night, we’ll gather for a shared meal to reflect, connect, and celebrate the experience together.

This is the rhythm of the Blue Zone—slower, social, and deeply connected to daily life.
